WEEK 17

On 20 November 2019, I had email my proposal report to Madam Azliza for plagiarism check. After that, around 11.13 am, Madam Azliza  had tell me that she already check for my plagiarism which is 23% for FYP 1 and Madam ask to print out the proposal report and submit to her by this week.

After that, on 21 November 2019, i had print out my full report and the price for printing is RM 17.00. So, I keep the receipt to claim for FYP project budget and submit the proposal report to Madam Azliza.

On 23 November 2019, I submitted my progress report by using blogger. On this blogger, I had explain all of my progress on my FYP 1 project by week and i will continue my progress for FYP 2 by using same blogger.

WEEK 16

This week is the last week before all student FYP 1 should submit their FYP proposal report and progress report. I had done around 90% for my proposal report, so i had continue chapter 3, that is gantt chart. Gantt chart is chart that i need to show my progress for this project in the chart. This can make easier for reader to know my progress of the project. I had also done for my conclusion, which is i am done my FYP proposal report. Therefore, I had start to recheck and touch up my report.

On 16 October 2019 (13.42pm), Madam Azliza had whats app me on FYP group that she remind me to submit my proposal report for checking the plagiarism. This is because, the submission for proposal report is on next week. 

However, I had a problem on my chapter 2, that i need to repair the literature review. So, I need to delay my proposal report from submitted to madam. 

WEEK 15

This week, i had continue Chapter 3, which is schematic diagram, project equipment and software. For schematic diagram, I need to find expected schematic diagram for my project. This is main part of the robotic arm diagram that need to simulate to get the output. However, on the diagram below (picture) show the four motor but for my project used 2 servo motor only.

After that, Project equipment and Software is what i need to build my robotic arm project. This is can make easier for me to survey the project price and estimated my FYP project's budget. I have used 10 material and equipment to develop this project.

WEEK 14

On week 14, I had start by doing Chapter 3 that is main chapter for my project. This chapter is very important because student need to explain the method or flow of their project especially on prototype project. Student need to explain their flow of project by using block diagram and flowchart. Block diagram is mainly focused on the part flow, that needed to explain every part that used. It can give reader a good understanding about this project and usually block diagram used in the development of hardware and software to expend awareness about some project.  

The block diagram of my project has been divided by two, which is Transmitter and Receiver. Transmitter is a circuit on the robotic arm's controller while receiver is on the robotic arm. This is because, when the user use the hand controller robotic arm, the transmitter will detect the user's motion and send the data to the receiver by using RF module. For the second part of methodology is about Flowchart, which is used in many academic areas, including engineering, medical and business management. Mostly, people create the flowchart to show the flow or process of project. this is can make easier for reader to understand the process. This flowchart illustrates how the robotic arm functions with movement for this task. There are four process that every process have a different instruction and output. The result will follow to instruction of the user's motion.

WEEK 13

On this week, I had still focus on chapter 2 ,which is i need to find article regarding previous work that are related on my project. I have choose 3 articles that are suitable to put in my proposal report :

1. Human Controlled Robotic Arm (Hogfeldt and Soderman, 2016).
2. Robotic Arm Control through Human Arm Movement using Accelerometers (Pattnaik and Ranjan, 2013).
3. A Geometric Approach for Robotic Arm Kinematics with Hardware Design, Electrical Design, and Implementation (Clothier and Shang, 2010).

After that, i have also divided the type of robotic arm into two that is Robotic Arm in Hydraulic System and Robotic Arm in PLC system. In the different application, we can see the advantage and disadvantage of the application. We also can see in positive side for user that can simplify their work.

WEEK 12

This week is only focus on proposal report and i had done my chapter 1 introduction about hand motion robotic arm. Then, i am going to start chapter 2 that is Literature review. On the first part is i am going to explain about the introduction of Literature review and then, i had start searching articles about history of robotic arm. i had found 2 article about history of robotic arm.

After that, i had found two article about definition of robotic arm. The purpose why we need to find researches article because we can compare the article. This is because, every article have different opinions and theories. Also, some articles have same theories that we can conclude about the theory.

WEEK 11

This week is free activities for FYP, which is I had research my project that commented from assessor last week. My project need to improve and make it more clear to user because this project is little bit complicated because it involved robotic technology. Other than that, i had also start for report on chapter 1 that is Introduction. So i referred to my slide that i had present on last week. I spent the whole week to do some parts in my proposal report and repair my part for introduction and conclusion.

For now, student can focus more on report because the progress report and proposal report need to submit on week 17 which is student have 6 week more. For chapter 1 have four main point:

• Background of project
• Problem statement
• Objective the project
• Significance of project 
• Scope and limitation

I had done doing 30% for my chapter 1 (introduction) that is background project and problem statement. 

WEEK 10

On 30 September 2019 (Monday), I had meet Madam Azliza to show my proposal slide to get advice and recommendation. Madam Azliza had comment and ask me to add another 1 article for literature review because I am just put 2 article on the slide. The expected outcome also must put on the slide. Madam also ask me to get more practice so that my presentation smooth and punctual on time.

On 2 October 2019 (Wednesday) is the challenge day for student FYP 1, that is FYP Proposal Defense Day. The presentation was held at Classroom 204 on 3pm. The attendance are compulsory for all student that involved in FYP 1 and they need to wear smart attire to perform their presentation. Before presenting, all the students are required to obtain their assessment cover sheet and confirmed their attendance at Level 1 of UniKL BMI main building. Then, I am going to classroom 204 and waiting for assessor that is my assessor is Sir Hazizulden Bin Abdul Aziz and Madam Julie Roslita Binti Rusli. Every class have 6 students to present with 2 assessor and my turn to presentation is last. Miss Hamima is the one of the FYP 1 Proposal Defense Day committee that will watch over the time for student.  

After the presentation is done, there is a comment and recommendation from assessor:

• The problem statement is good but need to more specific on the problem
• The limitation is only one, so need to research more limitation on this project
• The block diagram need to be more details
• The Introduction and conclusion need to be more specific, not in general
• Is this robotic is only specific for experience worker or general worker

After my presentation settled, the assessors have given mark and give to committee FYP 1 Proposal Defense Day, Miss Hamima.

WEEK 9

On this week was mainly focused on the Final Briefing of FYP 1 on 25 September 2019 (Wednesday). The briefing was held at TTL2  and the attendance for all students that took FYP 1 are compulsory, same as the previous FYP 1 briefing. The briefing was facilitated by Sir Imran Mohammad Sofi. The topic for this final briefing is FYP Proposal Defense Day (Tip & Trick), Submission of Progress Report and Proposal Report. Student need to get ready for FYP proposal defense day on Week 10, that is need to create a slide for FYP project. After that, Sir Imran also has brief about attire and time limit which is every student will give 10 minutes for present and 5 minutes for questionnaire (Q&A). Therefore, student must have skill to present and manage the time which is not too fast and not too slow. This is the important point that required to show on the slide:

WEEK 8

After doing researches on week 7, this week is mainly focus on third FYP 1 briefing. This briefing is about Workshop on Methodology (chapter 3), Preliminary Result (Chapter 4) and Abstract Writing. The briefing held on 11 September 2019 (Wednesday) around 3PM until 5PM and the briefing in charged by DR Imran. The attendance for student is compulsory. On the first topic is Methodology (Chapter 3), which is Dr Imran had explained about introduction of methodology. Methodology is a method that we need to propose about how to conduct this project.

After that, student also need to propose their preliminary result that is simulation or expected outcome and abstract writing about FYP project. On the same day (11 September 2019), I had email to madam six literature review that related on my project. Mostly the article show that the robotic arm is more focus on industrial field and the function is to lifting object.

WEEK 7

            

           On the brief, student need to find literature review that relate on their project, so Madam Azliza was requested  to find minimum five article related on my project. I spent around 1 week to find the article, I also managed to find five articles for literature review, which is about the robotic arm that consists of currently used in industries technology. Mostly robotic arm is using for lifting heavy object in industries factory. I have choose 3 application on robotic arm that is by using programmable logic controller (PLC), hydraulic and hand gesture.

WEEK 6

            This week was mainly focus on second FYP 1 briefing (28 August 2019) that is Workshop on Introduction (Chapter 1) and Literature Review (Chapter 2) Writing. This briefing held at TTL2 on 3pm until 5pm and attendance to all student who take FYP 1 are compulsory. This briefing was conducted by Sir Imran Mohammad Sofi because he in charge for all FYP 1 briefing. Sir Imran was explain about Introduction (chapter 1) and Literature Review (Chapter 2).

Chapter 1: Introduction

1. Background of Project: student need to review the subject area, previous area and relevant history regarding the project that been selected.
2. Problem Statement: student need to find the problem of current issue and ways how to solve the problem.
3. Objectives of the project: Every project that been selected need objective minimum three and maximum five.
4. Significance of the project: Is the research worth doing? Why the audience would read it? Why audience should support the project?
5. Scope and Limitation: every project must have scope that only what is covered and limitations is anything that can't be avoided.
6. Summary: Overview of the project.

Chapter 2: Literature Review

            Students need to find suitable article or scholars papers that are relate to their projects. The research paper should consists current knowledge and findings that have anything to do with any aspects of the projects.  Literature review are very important for the project, which is student need to study the research and compare with previous project. Then, student need to find minimum five research paper that relate to their project and also have theoretical and methodological contributions to the project.

WEEK 5

            After a week, I have decide to create a robotic project, which is Robotic Arm that can be control by hand motion. I choose this project because mostly factory are use the robotic and it is upgrade by technologies. The robotic arm will move based on human hand motion and it is suitable using by heavy factory. I have decide to proceed this robotic arm project so; I went to see Madam Azliza to register the title. However, the project have a little change on the project title that is by “Robotic Arm by using Hand Motion” to “The Development of Hand Motion Robotic Arm using Microcontroller”. This is because the title is look very simple and must mention the main item that will be use. After that, Madam Azliza register my project title into the UniKL BMI website: http://fyp.bmi.unikl.edu.my/report_cursemdeg1.php  

After register the project title, Madam Azliza asked me to find robotic arm article or any article that related to my FYP project. This research also will be use on Literature Review of FYP report (Chapter 2) because I need to compare my project with other project related. 

WEEK 4

In week 4, I need to focus on FYP project because all student need to submit the FYP tittle to their supervisor by week 5. I spent the whole week going through existing FYP title throughout available sources such as from the internet, FYP websites and survey the previous FYP project at library UniKL BMI. Mostly, previous student had focus the project by using RFID, Arduino, IOT and Raspberry because nowadays technology become more advances. Student need to create a unique project that should be something new or improved from previous project. So I have been decide to use RFID and I plan to do Examination Attendance by RFID Based. This project is an authentication system where student have card holder that are authorized through RFID technology and it’s contain student detail such as name, identification card (IC) number, ID number and status about finances and discipline student. So student did not need to print and bring examination slip when they are sitting for the final exam.

 After that, I have meet madam Azliza to explain about my selection project that the tittle is Examination Attendance by RFID Based but madam have given some suggestion and advice that this project have complicated. It is involve UniKL BMI management system such as student attendance, discipline, finance problem etc. then, madam give me time to research and think to stay doing this project or do another project.

WEEK 3

This week is mainly focus on FYP 1 Briefing (7 August 2019) that conduct by Sir Imran Mohamad Sofi. He will guide and brief to all student in every briefing season. All student attendant are compulsory and need to be punctual. On the briefing that held at TTL 2 on 3.00pm, Sir Imran have explain about coursework on FYP 1:
